To All Seafood Festival Participants:
As we close out our first ever “Seafood & Music Fest, we would like to send out our heartfelt appreciation to Mayor
Mallott for helping us make this a reality, together with the board of trustees, especially Dawn Hargraves, Chief Hesse, Chief
Levine and most notably Kevin Schelling. We never could have made this event a success without their help.
A special thanks to our Board of Directors, Mary Ellen Kelly, Lindsey Klentzin and Jon Randazzo, your tireless,
endless help and dedication was greatly appreciated. MaryEllen’s willingness and availability, Lindsey’s countless hours
handling coordination, were both second to none. Our communications team, Sean Klentzin, Craig Low and Joe Marcellaro
together conquered social media, radio and print to get the word out far and wide, which showed in our attendance
throughout the week.
Our event staff, Eric Iverson, Laura Mercogliano and Diane Montes brought out the “family” in our festival. Without
this team we would not have reached our goal to appeal to all ages, especially families with young children. Scott Hirsch, who
dedicated much time and much needed space to the event and did so willingly. His endless efforts to assist in the production
were greatly accepted.
To our gracious friend and neighbor, John Guadagno, who joined forces with our team and helped hit it out of the
ballpark with his most generous donations of music, talent, staff and innovativeness, we thank you! The Fire Island Ferries
Freight including Chris and his staff on the freight boats, thank you for moving every last piece of freight to the north dock!
Thank you to our Local DJ’s, “Shellshock”, Rich Schelling, D.J.”FI-IRA” Zahler”, D.J. “Phat Matt” Morano. Thanks to Tommy
Smith the Fest sound tech & all thelocal and long island bands that made it such a success!!
Many thanks to OBYG and Patty Brahe for supplying us with an endless amount of CIT’s to man our event tents, to
Lauren Chenault with her talented photography, Vinny Fazio for his fun donation, Richie Dziuba for all your fabulous art ,
Chuck Rideout & Marian Cirdei who selflessly hung flags across the east end and finally to each & every Volunteer that came
forward from local residents, local employees and local police officers to help, whether it was for 15 minutes or 3 days!
We are forever grateful to have been part of this Ocean Beach Chamber of Commerce event. Words cannot express
how we feel in this moment in time. We all should take a bow and get together soon to plan our 2nd annual Seafood and
Music Fest for next year.
Thank you sincerely,
Chris Mercogliano & Jen Moritz
